The United Kingdom is set to progress with utilizing the total value of frozen Russian funds to support the Ukrainian defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They added that the decision would be executed in strong partnership with the America.

United Kingdom restrictions have frozen more than £25bn of Russian resources since Russia initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, up to this point, money provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had only been sourced from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to push forward toward using the complete amount of the seized Russian sovereign funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that additional sanctions over the next period would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This declaration comes after European leaders met in the Danish capital recently to consider employing frozen Russia's funds for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump called on international partners to confiscate or utilize frozen Russia's funds, based on news outlets.

The value of immobilized Russia's assets in the EU is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow executed extensive bombardments all over Ukraine on Friday, resulting in electricity outages in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and several other zones.

In a update on X following the attack, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack aimed at public and utility structures.

"The necessity is not empty words but concrete steps - from the US, the European Union, and the seven nations - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and implementing penalties," he stated.

"Every sanction decision diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky stated to the press he would urge Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement programme, under which partner nations buy arms from the America to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the United Kingdom's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the initiative, as well as impose further measures on the Russian Federation.
