Several Hurt as Turbulence Impacts Delta Aircraft into Sydney, Australia
Several people have been injured following a Delta aircraft originating in LA to Sydney experienced rough air Friday morning.
Delta Flight 41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it touched down at Sydney Airport, a company official told. Several cabin crew members sustained injuries.
Local paramedics stated they evaluated five patients, and transferred three of them to hospital with minor injuries that included pain in the back and headaches. The injured spanned from their thirties and seventies.
It is the newest example of aircraft encountering turbulence, with experts pointing out that shifting climate patterns is a significant contributor.
On board were 245 people and fifteen staff members on the Airbus A350, the representative said, adding that the plane touched down "safely" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday morning.
The NSW Ambulance Service said they got a call just only 180 seconds ahead of the plane landed, and response teams were ready and waiting at the airport.
