Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however can the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
